Travel Tip: Pack a Corkscrew!
No matter where I travel, there’s one small kitchen gadget I’ve now learned to always bring with me: the humble waiter’s key corkscrew.
If you were to look in my kitchen drawer, you’d find a handful of cheap waiter’s key corkscrews purchased over the years from 24-hour drugstores and gas stations. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been somewhere with a newly purchased or gifted bottle of wine from the region I’m visiting, all ready to enjoy a glass out on the secluded vacation cabin patio, or by the side of the road after deciding to pull over for an impromptu road trip picnic, and … no corkscrew.
Alas! And to think all could have been avoided had I just remembered to throw one into my suitcase. Word to the wise, my friends.
