The Popular Wine Bottle Succulent Planters at Trader Joe’s Are Back
New year, old favorite! Trader Joe’s brought back its succulent wine bottle planter for another year and TJ’s fans couldn’t be more excited. Now you can pick up a bottle of Two-Buck Chuck and a bottle full of gorgeous succulent plants all in one go.
For just $12.99, Trader Joe’s shoppers can grab one of these iconic planters that have been bestsellers since 2019 while supplies last. Each one is made from a wine bottle that has been sliced open and flattened a bit to help it stay upright. And inside each planter is a collection of densely-packed succulent plants including Jade, Aeonium, and Echeveria.
And each bottle has a different collection. So no matter which one you choose, you’re getting a one-of-a-kind indoor garden.
To keep your succulent planter looking beautiful and healthy all winter long, you’ll want to ensure you’re stingy with water. The layer of soil underneath the succulents is incredibly shallow, which is both a good and (potentially) bad thing.
Having a shallow soil layer means that it will take less time for the soil to dry out completely, therefore lessening your chances of root rot. But it also means that you can waterlog your plants if you have a heavy watering can hand. Only water when the soil is dry all the way through, and water just enough to dampen the soil without leaving puddles behind.
If you’ve been meaning to get your hands on one of these wine bottle planters for the past few years and just never made it happen, now is the time to finally pick one up. And don’t forget to pair it with a Two-Buck Chuck. It just makes sense, after all.
