Trader Joe’s is known for having a pretty impressive frozen foods aisle, where it keeps everything from an array of frozen vegetables and proteins in stock. It’s also a spot to find some of our favorite global tastes, from their popular Indian fare to pizzas and baked goods. However, one of the most popular finds as of late has been a Korean specialty that is so beloved, it’s hard for them to keep it in stock.

Trader Joe’s Kimbap Is Back in Stock

The chain’s popular kimbap is back on shelves, and people are clamoring to grab it before it disappears again. This frozen item, which goes for $3.99, is a popular Korean treat that looks similar to a giant maki sushi roll and is made with sesame oil-seasoned rice and seaweed, and filled with an assortment of sautéed greens, root vegetables, and pickles wrapped around braised tofu.

As with the other freezer aisle Trader Joe’s items, this is easy to reheat. Just toss it in the microwave for a few minutes or do a quick pan-fry. While some like it hot and some like it cold, it’s apparent from the Instagram comments, people really do like it a lot.

This kimbap, which has been out of stock for a while, proved so popular it even inspired a subreddit to discuss its availability (or, rather, unavailability): “Guys please stop buying the frozen kimbap…” read one comment: “I have been going every day to buy some and they have been sold out EVERY DAY.”

As these clearly sell out quickly, some Trader Joe’s locations are setting a limit of two per customer as to extend the supply, so it may be a good idea to grab any you can before they disappear again!
