At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when many people were experiencing heightened anxiety, a group of researchers conducted a study to explore how looking at flowers might affect individuals’ mental and physical well-being. The findings demonstrated that participants who interacted with flowers in bright red and yellow hues experienced a significant increase in relaxation, cheerfulness, and comfort.

If you’re looking for a quick mood boost — something many people might need after an election and with the holiday season in full swing — flowers can offer a simple yet uplifting touch to your day. And no, you don’t need to go out of your way to visit a florist. The next time you’re at Trader Joe’s for groceries, you can grab a beautiful bouquet to bring home.

According to recent news, Trader Joe’s has restocked peonies! The beautiful, bowl-shaped peonies are priced at $12.99 per bundle of five stems and are available in several shades: rosy red, blush pink, and cream white. They’re fragrant and have a sweet, rosy, and subtly citrusy aroma. This flower is known for coming off shy in a ball-like bulb and, with time, slowly opening up into an extravagant bloom.

One creator, @jolene.mendez, documented an abundant rollout of peonies at Trader Joe’s recently, and shoppers eagerly flocked to the comments to share their excitement.

One person commented on the Instagram post, “They’re so pretty,” while another wrote, “Beautiful!”

If you end up securing a bouquet of peonies, don’t forget to take the steps to maintain them properly. You can go the traditional route, like feeding them flower food, or you can try this viral hack, which involves pouring a splash of vodka in the water to preserve them for longer.
