Trader Joe’s Just Brought Back a Fan-Favorite Item, and Shoppers Are Running to Buy It

No trip to Trader Joe’s is complete without stopping by the bakery section and adding something sweet to your shopping cart. For me, that something sweet usually comes in the form of a cake — more specifically, a lemon cake. So if you’re anything like me and have an affinity for lemon cake, then you too have a brand-new reason to head to the popular grocery chain and search for a spot in the parking lot. 

Revealed by the popular Instagram account @trader_joes_treasure_hunt, Trader Joe’s has just brought back a fan-favorite treat for lemon-lovers: the Meyer Lemon Cake Mix with Icing.  

Now if you happen to be thinking of our previous coverage of the ready-made Trader Joe’s Mini Lemon Sheet Cake earlier this month, this release is a bit different. A lemon cake that you can make from the comfort of your home, @trader_joes_treasure_hunt’s post provides several slides, complete with final photos and instructions on how to make it.

“This cake is delicious! Sweet n tender, moist lemon cake with plenty of lemon flavored pourable icing,” the post about the cake mix read. They also note in their caption that the mix is reminiscent of the Starbucks lemon loaf, but for a fraction of the price.

So if you’re in the mood for something sweet and are a fan of doing things yourself, head on over to your local Trader Joe’s and pick up a box of their Meyer Lemon Cake mix. It’s on sale now for $3.49 and, if you ask me, that’s a price you just can’t beat.
