I just came back from a two-week trip in Italy, and let me tell you, I am now insufferable in the kitchen. All I want to eat are those fresh Italian favorites, from pasta to tomatoes and lots of soft cheese. Particularly stracciatella, which is the cheese used as a filling in burrata, as well as the flavor used for my favorite gelato ever. So you can imagine my utter delight when I found out that Trader Joe’s is selling a Burrata Filling (aka stracciatella) for a limited time now in their stores.

Sold at $4.49 a container, this burrata filling is a creamy, cheesy spread with shreds of fresh mozzarella. Trader Joe’s says it is “richly textured and mildly sweet” perfect to pair with your favorite acidic foods, like tomatoes or on a salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Needless to say, I plan on having this cheese stocked in my fridge all summer long. Why? Because the recipe possibilities are endless.

You can’t go wrong with topping dollops of this filling on pasta, like this spaghetti with crispy pancetta and peas. This crispy sheet pan gnocchi with burrata is currently a favorite of mine, as well as this tomato and burrata salad. For something unique when you have guests over, why not set up a burrata bar? Plus, did you know you can even use burrata as a way to upgrade that frozen pizza? It’s a game-changer, let me tell you!

I’m also loving this other salad recipe on Instagram, posted by @danielles_eats_, with arugula, roasted beets, pistachios, balsamic glaze, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and freshly chopped basil. With dollops of the Burrata Filling, of course.

As you can see, there’s so much you can do with this Burrata filling. So don’t be intimidated and pick up a container. This stracciatella lover says you absolutely won’t regret it.
