An Inside Look at the New HomeSense Store — Opening Today!
Ever since HomeGoods’ parent company, TJX, announced that HomeSense — a spinoff chain of stores with even bigger and better home displays — was finally coming to the U.S., I’ve had my eyes peeled for any news on the store I could get. The first one opened earlier this summer in Framingham, Massachusetts, which is close, but not close enough for me to zip over to after work. The second store in East Hanover, New Jersey, on the other hand. Well, I can. And I did!
The store officially opens today! But I got a sneak peek earlier in the week. Here’s what I saw.
For starters, the place is huge. It took me what felt like forever to wander the meticulously organized aisles. The woman who gave me a tour didn’t even know how many square feet the store was because it was so big. Let’s call it a cool three million? That sounds about right.
Here are some of the highlights from my walk, er, hike.
1. SMEG Refrigerators
I was not expecting to see major home appliances, but I did. For example, this super-trendy and heavily discounted $1,999 SMEG refrigerator.
2. Lots of Kitchen Gadgets
OXO, one of our favorite affordable kitchen brands, was featured prominently in the tool section. There was also tons of KitchenAid, Kate Spade, Simple Human, and more.
3. Tons of Organizing Stuff
See this picture? Now imagine three rows of stuff like this. If you can’t figure out how to organize your kitchen after a trip to HomeSense, there may be no hope for you.
4. Inexpensive Dinnerware
There was real Lenox there! And Waterford! Real name brands that your mom has heard of, on the cheap. Hint: There were also All-Clad pots and pans.
5. Rugs
Three words: discounted Magnolia rugs! As in Chip and Joanna Gaines. You could also get the large-scale furniture and accessories to finish the room. I’m talking bar stools, dining room tables, vases, and more.
Have you been to one of the new stores yet?
