If there's one thing we know is true, it's that you have enough on your plate at dinnertime without having to rack your brain about rice ratios. Basmati, jasmine, white, brown, long, short — this tip works for all of them — every time!

In today's tiny video tip, we share our secret for how to cook any kind of rice, without referring to water ratios.

Is this the best way to cook rice? Some argue with that assertion, saying you get better effects (fluffier, or drier, or more intact grains — depending on your goals for your rice) when using a more precisely calibrated method for steaming rice in a limited amount of water.

However, we would argue back that this is the easiest and most foolproof way to cook rice. If you just need a quick pot of rice to go with your dinner, this is easy and simple — no ratios or instructions needed.
