February has some of us thinking about parties. With Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl around the corner — in addition to birthdays, engagements, and more — you’re probably knee-deep in the planning stage for your next extravaganza. Although you most likely already have a number of snacks and appetizers on your must-make list, adding something new this year won’t hurt one bit.

Enter: Destiny Symone’s video for homemade pizza rolls. It seemed like the perfect spin on one of my favorite recipes. Originally shared by Kimmy’s Kreations on Instagram, this recipe only uses a few ingredients and the end result is a mini pizza pocket made with a wonton wrapper and filled with savory sauce, pepperoni, and melted cheese.

At the beginning of the video Symone says, “I promise once you make pizza rolls this way, you will never go back to frozen pizza rolls ever in your life,” as she breaks open a cheesy square.

To make these rolls, you’ll need wonton wrappers, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and pizza sauce. Place the wonton wrapper on a flat surface and sprinkle on a little mozzarella cheese. Then, add a slice of pepperoni (or whatever veggie you’re in the mood for) and sprinkle a little more cheese. Finally, and maybe the most important part, add a dollop of pizza sauce. Dab a little water on one edge of the wonton wrapper before folding into a square.

Then carefully drop the squares into a hot pot of oil, and fry until they’re golden-brown. (If you don’t feel like dealing with hot oil, some viewers also suggest popping them in the air fryer.) And finally, mix a bowl of melted butter with garlic paste, parsley, and Parmesan before evenly coating each roll in the mixture. Serve on a plate with a bowl of pizza sauce for dipping, and enjoy!
