The World’s Fair is in Milan this year, and the theme is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” To mark the occasion, the MoMA Design Store launched a collection of playful products for the table in collaboration with a group of iconic and well-known Italian designers. Here are some of my favorite products from the collection — all are either new or created for the first time from designers’ archival drawings.

First up of course is this kitchen timer, which manages to combine playful kitsch, lively color, and a necessary kitchen function all in one small object.

A sculptural approach to the little accessories of the table: creamer, salt and pepper, vase, and more.

A fanciful candleholder from a legendary designer. MoMA describes it: “Set a tea light at its base and the warmth from the candle will cause the glass-paneled cylinder to spin, casting colorful light around the room.”

What’s an Italian collection without an espresso cup?
