This Candy-Colored London Kitchen Will Totally Cheer You Up
When Faith and I saw this kitchen last week on Apartment Therapy, we both immediately chatted each other to say how much we loved it. Decorated in an array of pretty pastels, it’s one of the cheeriest kitchens we’ve seen lately.
London-based Gigi Eligoloff, the owner, didn’t initially intend to have such a colorful, mix-and-match kitchen style, but when the money she’d socked away for her kitchen fund was stolen, it forced her to find another way to set up her kitchen. As Apartment Therapy writes in their recent House Tour:
…she got straight onto Gumtree (UK’s answer to Craiglist) and tracked down another kitchen at a fraction of the price. Terrified of losing out and fed up with having no place to cook, she piled the family into the car and drove straight round to the seller’s house to strike a deal. A couple of hours later, she was proud owner of a six-year-old kitchen and Rangemaster stove.
Okay, so it wasn’t the dream kitchen from her Pinterest board, but Gigi’s home is a great example of how repurposed secondhand and vintage pieces can beat brand new, shiny ones hands down.
Ah, those floor tiles. Love, love, love. They’re actually these vinyl floor tiles from Harvey Maria.
The Rangemaster stove (“Britain’s best loved range cooker brand,” according to the website) has so much character, too.
What a lovely space, don’t you think? Don’t miss the rest of Gigi’s kitchen and her cottage home tour:
