Spring may have just started, but I am already planning for summer. At the first sign of sunshine, I start thinking swimsuits, beaches, and tropical cocktails adorned with little paper umbrellas. And in the era of Instagram, you have to think about your pool float, too. Last year, your feed was probably peppered with the unicorn or the flamingo — it seemed like no one could take a picture in a pool without one. My prediction is that this summer, the avocado pool float (which you can buy on Amazon now) is going to be the biggest trend at pool parties.

It’s already a bestseller on Amazon, so you can bet more than one friend is going to show up to the beach with this under their arm. You don’t want to be left out, do you? Even better, it comes with a removable pit which doubles as a beach ball (and leaves behind a comfy spot to sit). Plus, the back of the float is inclined, letting you rest comfortably and hopefully work on your tan at the same time.

So far, reviews of the avocado pool float are calling it the “ultimate millennial pool float,” “durable,” and “very comfortable.” It’s got a four-and-a-half-star rating, meaning you can rest assured it’s worth the $35 price tag.

This is basically peak avocado enthusiasm, a sign that our love of this nutritious green fruit might be slightly out of control. Still, it’s better than an oat milk pool float (don’t ask me what that would look like) or an acai bowl pool float (which I am frankly surprised doesn’t already exist). Floatation devices targeted at millennials could have gone in many strange directions, so let’s just be glad we’re getting the avocado. Of course, if produce isn’t really your style, this pool float in the shape of a giant bottle of rosé is also very, very good.
