Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's has dropped some cold-hard facts about flavor preferences of consumers. The Vermont-based company disclosed their 10 best-selling flavors, and honestly it's a little shocking. You would think that Phish Food would be at the top (or is that just me?), but another pint is the true king of all ice cream. At least when it comes to Ben & Jerry's flavors.
The number-one-selling flavor is Half Baked. It's a chocolate and vanilla ice cream base with chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge brownies mixed in. Ranking at number two is Cherry Garcia, which is a tribute to American singer and songwriter Jerry Garcia of the band Grateful Dead. The flavor has cherry chunks and fudge flakes mashed up within the ice cream.
Here's the list of 10 that Ben & Jerry's released this week.
- Half Baked
- Cherry Garcia
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Chocolate Fudge Brownie
- The Tonight Dough
- Americone Dream
- Phish Food
- Chunky Monkey
- Strawberry Cheesecake
- Salted Caramel Core
Fans of Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report will recognize Americone Dream — a flavor in tribute of the late-night show. Another nod towards American late-night television is The Tonight Dough.
This year, Ben & Jerry's will be rolling out more flavors and products including cereal flavor ice cream (e.g., Cocoa Loco, Frozen Flakes, and Frozen Fruities), expanding their line of non-dairy flavors, and rolling out a brand-new line of Pint Slice treats that come in four flavors (Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Vanilla Peanut Butter Cup, and Americone Dream).
