It’s only a couple weeks until Halloween, which means you need to decide on your costume pretty soon. While spooky costumes are the norm, it’s the punny ones that really impress me. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our new favorite food-themed punny costumes that take minimal work to make.

1. Sandwich Artist

A sandwich artist, in case you aren’t aware, is the person who crafts your sandwiches at Subway (ahem, I didn’t know this until Lisa Freedman pointed it out!). Simply dress up as an “artist” — we went the clichéd route with the beret and red kerchief to make it obvious — and then carry around a canvas with a sandwich painted on it.

2. Sugar Mama

This two-ingredient costume couldn’t be easier (if you know someone who has a baby!). Put a bag of sugar in a baby carrier and walk around all night.

3. Breadwinner

Another easy one. Put on some medals and carry around a loaf of bread. Bonus: You’ll be prepared if you get hungry and want to make toast!

4. Eye Candy

Attach large google-y eyes and an assortment of candy to a plain T-shirt.

5. Cotton Candy

Attach cotton balls and candy to a plain T-shirt. You can use glue if you don’t like the shirt, or tape if you don’t plan on jumping around a lot.

6. Pig in a Blanket

All you need for this costume is a pig’s snout and a blanket. Bonus points if all of these things are pink.

7. Greek Yogurt

Take a bed sheet and wrap it around your body to make a toga. Get a blue sash and write “Yogurt” on the fabric.

8. Prime Rib

Print out an Amazon Prime logo and attach it to the bottom part of your plain T-shirt, above the waist. Get it? Near your rib? Prime rib? I laughed about this one for too long.

9. Iron Chef

Be a cooking rockstar! Pin or glue the letters “FE” to the middle of a plain T-shirt. You can use paper, but felt might be nice here as well. Put on a chef’s hat to complete the look.

10. Smarty Pants

Grab an old pair of pants and attach (glue, tape, pin) a bunch of Smarties to them. Jump up and down for joy because you’re the punniest!
