I’m pretty sure my summer won’t be complete until I have made and consumed a batch of ice cream Tauntaun Bon Bons. Followed by a big bowl of Ewoki Road Sundaes. Right?! This pun-tastic Star Wars-themed cookbook from Lara Starr had me in stitches even as I was reaching for my ice cream bowl.

Bonus: the recipes sound truly fantastic! Besides popsicles (which, yes, you can make in the shape of light sabers courtesy of the included mold), you’ll find ideas for ice cream sandwiches, nut-topped sundaes, ice cream cakes, and all sorts of frozen delights. 

Kids are definitely the target audience here (though I know a few Star Wars-loving adults who would kill for a slice of Millennium Fal-Cone Pie). If you’re home with some young Star Wars fans this summer, the recipes in this book would be a great way to get them in the kitchen to collaborate on a project. The recipes are very straight-forward and can be easily tailored according to age and skill level in the kitchen. Pull out your own set of Star Wars figurines (you know you have them), and the afternoon’s entertainment is taken care of.
