Other highlights: Part memoir, part cookbook, The Little French Bakery Cookbook is the kind of read that will make you pour another cup of coffee and linger a little longer at the breakfast table. It has a good mix of “fancy” French pastries like madeleines and croissants, along with American-inspired classics like cinnamon rolls and confetti cake.

I also appreciate that both sweet and savory recipes are represented here — bakers cannot live on eclairs alone (unfortunately). I highly recommend this book for anyone who has harbored secret fantasies of quitting their day job and opening a corner bakery.
