Dealing with shoddy or drab kitchen gear is enough to deter you from spending time in what should be one of the most fun parts of your home. And yes, that kitchen gear includes your compost bin. Our staffers who do compost know that finding the right container can entail a lengthy process of trial and error, which is why when we discovered Bamboozle a few years ago, we simply had to put the brand’s products on our readers’ radars. Cut to today, and The Kitchn has just launched a collection in collaboration with Bamboozle!

The new line features not only the incredibly sleek and internet-famous compost bin, but also some other tools that’ll quickly become indispensable to your at-home baking routine. Maxwell Ryan, our founder and CEO, along with a number of our staffers, helped choose the refreshing color palette for the new offerings. If your space could use an airtight compost bin that doubles as decor or a pretty pop of color, you’ll definitely want to check out the launches. There’s at least one item you’re bound to need (and love)!

What Is The Kitchn x Bamboozle Collection?

The Kitchn’s collection takes some of Bamboozle’s bestsellers and offers them in an enticing new colorway: You can now shop the brand’s compost bin in an avocado-green shade. “We were first introduced to Bamboozle with their now-famous compost bin, so we were honored when they asked us to design a color palette for their kitchenware,” said Maxwell Ryan, Founder & CEO of Apartment Therapy Media and publisher of The Kitchn. “We want to make all home cooks happy by adding style to great kitchen solutions.”

Like Bamboozle’s other products, the bin is made of Astrik, a material derived from renewable natural starches and ground bamboo that emits a fraction of the greenhouse gasses that most traditional materials emit. For your bin, you can grab a silicone liner bag that’s washable and, naturally, reusable, as well as a pack of biodegradable hemp filters that attach to the bottom of the bin’s lid. The filters help absorb bad smells, which means the compost bin promotes a pleasant kitchen ambience both in terms of appearance and scent.

Also included in the new collection are Bamboozle’s popular mixing bowls and measuring spoons, which are available in the fresh guacamole colorway, too. The bowl bundle comes with five different sizes that’ll come in handy for all kinds of meal prep tasks. You can even buy bowl lids to keep your dough shielded from the elements while it rises or to store leftovers! The spoons and cups are available in an eight-piece set, which you can buy separately or in tandem with the bowls. Like the compost bin, all of these items are made from Astrik and will prove plenty durable for everyday use.

Why You’ll Love The Kitchn x Bamboozle Collection

Before discovering Bamboozle’s baking tools, we first fell in love with the brand’s now-famous compost bin. Contributor Rochelle first reviewed it last year, noting that she wishes she had discovered it much earlier. “To no one’s surprise, it looks so much nicer next to my sink than the old bowl, but there’s one major feature I didn’t consider: The Bamboozle’s lid has a disposable charcoal filter, which blocks smells,” she wrote. “I used to dump my compost bowl every evening after dinner, but now I can wait until the Bamboozle is completely full before taking it outside.” (The bin’s filters are no longer made of charcoal, but they block foul odors just as well.)

Carolyn, our associate email editor, similarly swears by the Bamboozle bin, which fits perfectly into her urban lifestyle and tiny two-person home. “Two of the big selling points of the bin for me are the hemp filters, which eliminate smells, and the silicone liner bags, which are durable, dishwasher-safe, and help reduce stains when storing food scraps,” her review reads. “The bin, liner, and filter work together to create a fuss-free composting system for even the newest composting households.” She also added that the liner has two big side handles that allow for easy empties and that it prevents the interior of the bin from becoming stained. Bamboozle thought of every aspect when designing a compost container that simplifies an otherwise tedious process.

Now it’s your turn to try the compost bin and other goodies available in the new collection. Whether you’re an amateur baker and composter or your current kitchen setup could use an upgrade, this bundle is an improvement worth investing in.
