One of my favorite ways to make the most of the incredibly versatile IKEA RÅSKOG cart is as a mobile tool box. With its compact size, rotating wheels, and deep shelving with plenty of space in between, this cart can definitely hold its own as you toss your spatula in, while pulling out your tongs all in one fell swoop!

3 Tips for Setting Up Your RÅSKOG Cart Tool Station

  • Put your tool VIPs on the top shelf: We all have the tools that we turn to again and again. For some, it’s a wooden spoon; for others a metal spatula or a pair of tongs. Whatever the case, keep your essential tools on the top shelf and put the ones you use less frequently on the lower shelves.

  • Add hooks for additional storage: I like to hang small pot rack hooks off the edge of the shelves for extra, easily accessible storage of anything from dishtowels to measuring spoons.
  • Put your Mason jars to use: Another trick is to fill in the shelves with individual Mason jars or coffee canisters for an extra layer of organization. This way each tool has its home, and you won’t waste time searching for the thermometer, which somehow ended up next to the heart-shaped cookie cutter!
