After what has been a couple months of sad news for Great British Bake Off fans, we finally got a glimpse of the glorious future to come. Yesterday the BBC announced that Mary Berry will be hosting her own TV series with the BBC called Mary Berry’s Secrets from Britain’s Great Houses. The new show is basically a cross between Great British Bake Off and Downton Abbey.

The new show will follow Mary Berry as she visits a different grand home in each episode and explores the culinary history of each residence. She will also look at the present-day situations of each home by touring the gardens, private rooms, and kitchens. At the end of each half-hour episode, Mary Berry will create a special recipe that honors the history of the home.

Mary Berry expresses her excitement for the new project in the Mirror: “I am so excited to be doing this new series with the BBC — I have always had an enquiring mind so I know I will be inspired by the great houses we visit.”

There’s no news as to when the show will actually be airing, but there is some relief in knowing we’ll be able to get more Marry Berry in the near future.
