For the past couple months, there is an unsaid but known thing that happens on any given weekend (or weeknight): Everyone is watching “Gilmore Girls” on Netflix. All seven seasons of “Gilmore Girls” were added to Netflix in October 2014, and initially there was a lot of talk and excitement. This enthusiasm has since fallen way to mere murmurs of Stars Hollow and Rory’s relationship with Jess. This needs to change. Let this drinking game be your guide.

Now, “Gilmore Girls”is something you might not necessarily want to get drunk while watching — I totally understand, Stars Hollow isn’t the kind of place you go to get drunk. If that’s the case, I highly recommend you bundle up in lots of blankets and play this game while drinking tea or decaf coffee.

Take one sip:

. When Lorelai asks Luke for a cup of coffee.

. When someone hits on Lorelai.

. When Emily asks Lorelai and Rory if they would like a drink.

. When Rory awkwardly makes out with Dean, Jess, or Logan.

. When Sookie accidentally hurts herself.

. When Lorelai and Rory eat junk food.

. When Miss Patty teaches ballet class.

Take two sips:

. When Lane is grounded.

. When Lorelai and Rory both order burgers at Luke’s.

. When there’s a town hall meeting.

. When Kirk has a new random job.

. Whenever the town guitarist is in a scene (aka the town troubadour).

. When Richard talks about or adjusts his bow tie.

. When Paris mentions anything about crafting.

Finish your drink:

. When there’s a reference to Sylvia Plath.

. When there are any references to Lorelai killing a pet.

. When Lorelai goes behind the counter at Luke’s to get food or coffee.

. When Lorelai talks on the phone at Luke’s.
