Between starring in the comedy Emergency and singing her just-released single, “Vicious,” Sabrina Carpenter seems to lead a pretty glamorous life. That’s why we were a bit surprised to find out that the starlet loves the benefits of one particular household kitchen item: a roll of paper towels!

The former Disney Channel actress was recently asked by The Strategist to share the 10 items she can’t live without. Her answers: hydrating facial mist, a Yamaha portable grand piano, and Renée Rouleau’s Weightless Protection SPF 30. All are totally understandable, given that the “Skin” singer has been in the limelight since the age of 10, when she landed a role on the NBC drama Law & Order: SVU.

But one of her top 10 must-have items surprisingly caught our eye. In fact, we stopped in our tracks. Sabrina Carpenter loves Bounty.

Yes, as in the Quicker Picker Upper. Carpenter told New York magazine, “This is probably the most important on the whole list because one day I was going on a road trip and my mom put a roll of paper towels in my car and I was like, ‘Mom, why do I need this?'” That’s when Carpenter revealed that her mom is a pretty practical woman. Her mom responded, “Sabrina, you will always need a roll of paper towels wherever you go. You never know what’s gonna spill. You never know what you’re gonna need to clean up. You just never know.”

We totally agree. (Way to go, Mrs. Carpenter!) The 23-year-old actress explained that she said, “Okay, fair enough.” But in reality she thought, “I’m not gonna need these.” Still, as a obliging daughter, Carpenter listened to her mom and threw the roll into the car anyway.

So what happened? “I used the entire roll in like two days and I was like, Oh my gosh, she’s so right. Like I didn’t realize how much I used paper towels, how much I need them, but apparently I’m a little clumsy and these have really come handy,” Carpenter said.

“There have been many times I’ve been singing in the car and gotten carried away and knocked over a beverage or two. So I highly recommend having them always within eyesight, at least if you’re me,” explained the singer whose newest album, “Emails I Can’t Send,” will be released today.

We’re with you, Sabrina! Here at Kitchn, we’ve been singing the praises of absorbent paper towels for years. As many home chefs know, not only are paper towels indispensable for picking up spills, but they’re also pretty convenient at lining the crisper drawer, patting raw chicken, or greasing oil on a muffin tin.

And on an eco-friendly note, we’ve given reusable bamboo paper towels a spin, too. That’s not even counting how many times we’ve talked about the various upcycled uses of a paper towel tube (hello, makeshift vacuum attachment!).
