The 15 Second Cooking Show: Bart’s Fish Tales on Instagram

Like the constricted time or character limit on Vine or Twitter, videos on Instagram have forced people to get creative. Instagram only allows users to post videos that are between three and fifteen seconds long, which isn’t usually a lot of time to tell a story. A relatively new Instagram user Bart’s Fish Tales has used this constriction in a original way by creating a short, yet informative cooking show. You’re going to want to see this.

These videos are successful for a couple reasons. The first being that the topic is narrow – the videos only focus on fish. Secondly, each video shows simple tricks, recipes, or cooking techniques that are easily understood in the time frame given.

The host and of these videos, Bart van Olphen, is from Amsterdam. He is the author of three cookbook, which all deal with fish. One of the books that he coauthored, Fish Tales, was awarded the top prize in Paris at The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards for “most sustainable cookbook of the world” for 2011.
