The beauty of casseroles is that there’s one for every single occasion. There are eggy breakfast casseroles, veggie-packed casseroles, extra-creamy and ultra-comforting casseroles, and low-carb casseroles. But I have a special fondness for casserole side dishes.

A casserole side dish is my crutch for rounding out weeknight dinner, and as I plan Thanksgiving dinner it’s one of my first considerations on the roster of sides (after the stuffing recipes and mashed potatoes, of course).

From classics like green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole, to a super-cheesy Brussels sprout casserole, here are 20 casserole side dishes to make for Thanksgiving.
