This Is the One Breakfast Item Tessa Thompson Doesn’t Like to Eat — Plus, the One She Can’t Get Enough Of
Unless you don’t eat meat, it would be quite difficult to live well into your adult life without ever trying a hamburger. One could go as far as to say that it would be down right difficult to avoid ever trying one with the plethora of fast food burger spots, family barbecues, and sports functions all available at our leisure.
While that may ring true for most people, Creed III star Tessa Thompson recently shared at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar afterparty that she has actually never tried a hamburger. And as surprising as that may be, hamburgers weren’t the only food she’d gone most of her life without trying.
After being asked about the subject, Tessa responded, “I’ve never had a hamburger in my life.” When the reporter asked if the actress was vegetarian, Tessa replied, “No, I eat other things, I’ve just never had a hamburger. It’s the only thing extraordinary that I can still claim.”
While that may come as a shock to some, it really isn’t all that odd considering the amount of hamburger alternatives there are in the world. And even though the knee-jerk reaction may be to exclaim your surprise, there’s surely something all of us have never tried before — and Tessa seems to be leading the march.
The actress went on to confess that hamburgers weren’t the only thing she’d never gotten around to trying, adding that she had recently tried an egg for the first time and she was not that impressed.
“I had never had one of those [eggs]. I don’t think they are great.”
The reporter jokingly pointed out that there are many ways to enjoy an egg, to which Tessa replied, “That’s the problem with them. It’s like, pick a lane.” The one breakfast staple she does love, however? Potatoes.
If you ask me, that’s the exact beauty of food. There’s always something for everyone, and even the most popular foods can fall short of the desire of some taste buds. Sometimes, it takes trying the perfect recipe to open up your palate, while other times, it’s just not meant to be.
If you find yourself in the same boat as Tessa, but you’re more interested in seeing what all the burger hype is about, check out this recipe for what we would consider to be a deliciously authentic American cheeseburger from the recent movie, The Menu. And if you’re in the market for a plant-based option, look no further than this juicy portobello mushroom burger with pesto and thank us later.
