Taylor Swift Celebrated Her Birthday with a “Lavender Haze” Cake and It’s Exactly What Dreams Are Made Of

Birthdays are meant to be special and serve as an opportunity for friends and loved ones to celebrate the special person’s big day. When that special person is musician and megastar Taylor Swift, however, you know the birthday (and birthday cake) is going to be an extra-big deal.

In true T. Swift fashion, the singer — who celebrated turning 33 on December 13 while visiting New Orleans — had a cake that was everything but regular. Created by Bywater Bakery, the custom cake proved to be an unexpected opportunity for creativity, as the bakery’s chefs had a pretty open door as far as the overall look and feel of the cake was concerned.

“We were given free rein and license to create a flavor combination for her, our only instructions were to make it special,” a representative told People. The only specifications from her team? It had to be ready by 10 a.m. the day after the order was made and it needed to include Taylor Swift’s favorite colors and flavors.

According to the bakery’s Instagram post, the resulting cake was inspired by “Lavender Haze,” a track found on Swift’s Midnights album released earlier this year. The icing was in shades  of purple, pink, and orange with “Happy Birthday Taylor!” written out in sparkly letters for a result that looked downright psychedelic. 

Of course, the cake was overflowing with layers of flavor from there. Banana mascarpone cream with vanilla butter cake filled the top tier, while chai chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and caramel held down the bottom. As shown in the bakery’s Instagram Reel, no detail was missed either, with hand-painted flowers being added on to the cake’s layers to the backdrop of the aforementioned “Lavender Haze” song.

While Swift told her IG followers that she celebrated her big day in the studio, here’s hoping that she (or her team!) can plan my next birthday. She seems to know how to make it special!
