The $6 Target Find You’d Think Came from Trader Joe’s
Perhaps you remember: Back in 2018, I wrote about these Aldi nuts that are so fun and flavorful, people always think they’re from Trader Joe’s. (If you do remember, you’re likely my mother. Hi, Mom! If you don’t, you can go back and give it a read. Ready? Okay, moving on!) You likely already know that Trader Joe’s is the place to go to for surprising and interesting snacks. While it does have the market cornered in this space, it’s not the only market in town.
And because my closest TJ’s is now more than an hour away, I’ve been looking elsewhere. I’ve found lots of Trader Joe’s-esque snacks at Target, of all places. But there’s one snack I’ve been getting at Target that reminds me of those Aldi nuts — and, of course, of Trader Joe’s.
I’m here — yes, once again! — to talk about these Everything Cashews from Target’s Good & Gather line. I do talk about them a lot, and I even insisted they get included in our grocery list of Kitchn Essentials. But that’s because they are so flipping good! I feel the attention is well-deserved.
See, they’re cashews — cashews encrusted with copious amounts of sesame seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, salt, and poppy seeds. They really do taste just like an everything bagel, but in cashew form. They’re Fun with a capital F.

I buy a bag or two on a very regular basis. Most of the time, I eat them right out of the resealable pouch (or I pour some into a little pinch bowl, if I’m feeling fancy). However, I’ve also used them to top a savory toast with Greek yogurt and lox. I’ve put them on top of a basic bowl of yogurt. I’ve piled them up on a cheese board. And I used them in a batch of Chex Mix during the holiday season. (Don’t worry — I still buy those Aldi nuts, too!)
I haven’t had friends over in a while, so I can’t say that these cashews have been falsely accused of being from Trader Joe’s, but I sure think they would be, if given the chance!
Have you tried these nuts from Target? What’d you think?
