Oh, hi there! A few of us Kitchn editors are fresh off the bus from a super fun Target field trip to upstate New York. Specifically, we were at Troutbeck, a charming-yet-sprawling resort where Target execs had shipped in some (okay, LOTS) of the fall collection. The fall stuff won’t hit stores until September 22, so we got a sneak peek to not just look at the stuff, but to also touch things, sit on furniture, hug super-soft pillows, and eat off new dishes.

“We’ve designed our fall Home assortment to help guests create relaxing, cozy backdrops for making memories together,” says Jill Sando, Target senior vice president and general merchandise manager, Apparel and Accessories and Home. “From light woods and earthy pink and warm orange palettes to cozy textiles, classic plaids and woven tweed, our guests can mix, match and layer their favorite pieces to bring an inviting, affordable touch of fall to every room of their home.”

It didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect, but we certainly felt pretty cozy and now we are legit pumped for fall. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming items we’re most excited about.

1. Threshold Melamine Fall Leaves Salad Plate

Melamine isn’t just for the summer! Target will be coming out with all sorts of festive melamine plates with leaves, pumpkins, and even a turkey. We think they’re great for anyone setting a Thanksgiving table that’s going to have kids (or clumsy uncles!) sitting around it.

2. Opalhouse Light-Up Glass Pumpkin

This glass pumpkin has battery-powered lights inside it, so all you have to do is flip a switch and you have an instant fall decoration. There were a few of these (in a few sizes) down the middle of the table when we had dinner and they helped to light up our plates, too.

3. Threshold Frayed Napkins

We used these napkins at breakfast and thought, for sure, they belonged to the hotel and were super spendy. But then we saw the tag and realized they, too, were Target! They are incredibly soft and absorbent and the frayed edges really add a nice touch.

4. Threshold Stoneware Goat Shaped Pitcher

How cute is this little guy? He holds up to 14 ounces and we wanted to take him home so badly. There will also be two larger rooster pitchers, which hold 36 or 66 ounces.

5. Threshold Stoneware Pumpkin Serving Bowl with Lid

Target is going to have pumpkins galore! This one is made out of stoneware, which means you can bake or serve food in it! It holds up to 20 ounces and has a lid for a fun little reveal moment.

6. Opalhouse Water Hyacinth Owl Basket

Who (hoo!) wouldn’t like this cheeky basket?! Get it?

7. Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Mini Backpack

This mini backpack is the perfect size to hold a book and lots of snacks. You’re gonna want to bring it with you on a trip or just while running errands.

8. Threshold Artificial Arrangement in Ceramic Pot

We were told that Target has been putting a lot into faux flowers lately, and the efforts are paying off. When we sat down to dinner, it was hard to tell which flowers were real and which ones were fake (pro tip: mix them together and you’ll save money while also fooling everyone!).

9. Threshold Metal Thankful Trivet Gold

Sure, this is clearly meant for a Thanksgiving table, but we’d use this trivet all November long.

10. Threshold Metal Leaf Serving Tray

A lot of times, cute trays like this one aren’t actually safe for food. This one is though! We nibbled on candies from this tray and can totally see a few sprinkled around a festively fall home.

Which of these are you most excited about?
