Tampopo by Jûzô Itami

Tampopo would be the one. This great Japanese film is simple and sweet, yet impossible to fully describe. It models itself on classic Spaghetti Westerns — kind but mysterious man arrives in town and takes a widow’s struggling affairs in hand. Only, in this case, no outlaws are involved; her business is a ramen shop. A glorious and slyly funny tribute to beauty of noodles, food, and love.
