Take a Seat: Benches and Booths in the Kitchen

A few weeks ago we talked about chairs in the kitchen — we love being able to pull up a hospitable seat for a guest! But some kitchens don’t need chairs because they already have more substantial seating built in: Benches and booths! Here’s a look at a few examples of built-in kitchen seating in real homes.
TOP ROW
• 1 Robert and Elizabeth’s Soulful Sterling Place – Such a lovely bench and table!
• 2 Robert and Elizabeth’s Soulful Sterling Place – A view of the whole kitchen.
• 3 Art & Chelsea’s Delicious Kitchen Update – We love that red couch just outside Art and Chel’s kitchen!
• 4 Ulrika and Mark’s Transformed Tudor – A lovely built-in windowseat with a view of the kitchen.
• 5 Julie’s Light-Filled Eat-In Corner – A corner booth where Julie’s kids can hang out while she cooks.
BOTTOM ROW
• 6 Kyle’s Colorful Boston Perch – Kyle’s awesome homemade kitchen bench.
• 7 Kyle’s Colorful Boston Perch – An up-close of the cushions.
• 8 Kristie’s Thirties Tennessee Treasure – An old-fashioned breakfast booth.
• 9 Hunter’s First Home: An Exercise in DIY – A great built-in bench.
• 10 Angelique’s Sunlit Breakfast Nook – Maybe the best breakfast nook we’ve ever seen!
I have an eating nook in my kitchen that seriously needs a makeover. These are all inspiring little snippets of ideas! What about you? Do you have a bench or nook in your kitchen?
