How to Make the Taco Burger
Place your flour tortilla on a flat surface and spread your ground beef evenly across, seasoning with salt and anything additional you use to make the perfect burger. Place a medium-size pan over medium-high heat and add your flour tortilla, meat-side down. Cook until the ground beef has turned brown, And once done, flip your tortilla over and cook the other side until it’s slightly golden. Remove from the pan.
Once plated, add your toppings — sliced cheese, tomato, lettuce, onions, and your burger sauce. For the burger sauce you will need mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard seeds, and pickles. Mix together until blended well and add to the taco burger. Fold in half and enjoy!
My Honest Review of the Taco Burger
Coming into this, I felt this would be the ultimate mash-up of two of my favorite foods, and let me tell you, I was right. It was a great experience recreating this dish and I would more than likely make it again. Honestly, who doesn’t enjoy a good burger or taco?
Being able to blend the two just makes it even better, and with a few minor changes, such as making it more flavorful with additional herbs and spices, you really can’t go wrong with making this. Although I would have preferred to use ground turkey in substitution of the ground beef, this is a good way to get the best of both worlds and is easily customizable to fit your preferences.
3 Tips for Making the Taco Burger
- Make it your own. Play around with the toppings and the condiments you choose to use on your taco. You don’t have to be so conventional; push the limits with toppings you enjoy from either dish.
- Substitute ground turkey for ground beef. Not a beef fan? No problem. Substitute the beef for ground turkey instead.
- Season your protein. You can use more than just salt and pepper on your taco burger. I recommend using a little garlic powder and Worcestershire in addition to salt and pepper to bump up the flavor a little more.
