When it comes to what’s holding you back from making your own Crunchwrap Supreme or Doritos Locos tacos, it’s probably not the cheese. Even if you did have the deep fryer, griddle, and all the ingredients, Taco Bell is actually the fast food chain most designed for the laziest people ever and obviously not made for people who want to actually cook their wildest concoctions. But, that’s not to say someone wouldn’t want to bring those same flavors into their homes — and we don’t just mean shoving as many packets of Fire Sauce into your pockets as you can before you start getting looks — so, yes, we are excited you can now buy Taco Bell cheeses.

In fact, you can already buy the Fire and Baja sauces in stores, as well as the soft and crunchy tortillas, but the latest development really lets you get the best Taco Bell flavor into the home kitchen: they’ve released five flavors of shredded cheese for home use. Taco Night is just shredded Cheddar cheese; Salsa Verde mixes Monterey Jack, three kinds of Cheddar (mild, sharp, and sharp white), and salsa verde seasoning; Zesty Ranch is Monterey Jack with ranch seasoning (okay, we probably could have made that ourselves); 7-Layer Blend has the same three kinds of Cheddar as the Salsa Verde, plus Monterey Jack, asadero, low-moisture mozzarella, and something called “queso quesadilla cheese,” which I don’t think is a real thing; and the Breakfast Fiesta blends Cheddar cheeses with bacon and smoke flavors.

The five cheeses are all for sale at Meijer and cost $3.49 each — just about the same as one double cheesy gordita crunch. But this development means even if you’re not going to bother to do much more than microwave up a quesadilla, you’ll be able to grab the wildest flavors of the fast-food world and harness them into a late-night snack — no pants required.
