Summer is coming to an end, and I, for one, couldn’t be happier. I’m looking forward to cooler weather and things like apples, hearty roasts, soups and stews, and, more importantly, everything pumpkin spice. Whether it’s in a cereal or a sip, I love the warm combination of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and I’m always looking to try the season’s newest offerings. In fact, I recently discovered that Sweet Loren’s — the brand behind my favorite chocolate chip cookie — now makes Pumpkin Spice Pre-Cut Dough, so I immediately baked up a batch. And the taste? Well, picture the best pumpkin pie you’ve ever eaten — in cookie form. They’re so good, in fact, that I’ve stocked my freezer so I can snack on them right through the holiday season.

What Is Sweet Loren’s Pumpkin Spice Pre-Cut Dough?

Sweet Loren’s is a company that makes a variety of refrigerated cookie dough flavors using only all-natural, high-quality ingredients like cane sugar, dehydrated pumpkin, sustainable palm oil, refined sea salt, and oat flour that’s been pre-steamed, so the dough is safe to eat raw. The pre-cut doughs, which come in 11 flavors — including Fudgy Brownie, Sugar Cookie, Chocolate Chunk, and, of course, Pumpkin Spice — are all Certified Gluten-Free, Vegan Certified, Peanut-/Treenut-Free, Dairy-Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, 100% Whole Grain, and Kosher Pareve. You can find the cookie dough at most local supermarkets, including Whole Foods, or purchase bundles of six directly from Sweet Loren’s (including the Best Seller Variety Pack). Each pack of Sweet Loren’s pre-cut dough makes one dozen cookies.

Why I Love Sweet Loren’s Pumpkin Spice Pre-Cut Dough

Besides being easy to bake — just drop the pre-cut dough onto a baking sheet and pop it in the oven for about 10 minutes — these cookies are ridiculously delicious and taste homemade. They’re crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle, and unlike a lot of pumpkin spice products, they aren’t too heavy on the spices and don’t taste artificial. The pumpkin flavor is natural and subtle, and the cinnamon and nutmeg are in perfect proportion. The cookies also aren’t cloyingly sweet, which makes them perfect as a snack, an accompaniment to a cup of coffee, or the finishing touch to a great meal (I like to pair them with ice cream). You can also take them to the next level with a light cream cheese frosting.

If you’re a pumpkin spice fan or are just looking for a simple go-to dessert for fall or the holiday season (hello, cookie swaps!), you’d be wise to stock up on Sweet Loren’s.
