Whether you’re making basic pasta or mixing unconventional ingredients, learning how to cook is a process that requires lots of practice. Even if you know your way around the kitchen and have a solid repertoire of go-to recipes, there’s no harm in taking a cooking class. Not only does it open you up to new cuisines and recipes, but it also gives you the opportunity to pick up skills you wouldn’t learn otherwise.

Which brings us to Sur la Table. The cookware and gadget haven has a pretty stellar cooking curriculum. And now, for a limited time, you can take 30 percent off select in-store classes.

This sale has something for everyone. If you want to up your game for that end-of-summer cookout you’re planning, try the Backyard Shrimp Boil class. Craving a romantic night with a special someone? Sur la Table’s Surf & Turf course will set the mood. Or, if you want to bond with your roommates, the class on Instant Pot Tacos won’t disappoint.

Prices vary based on class, time, and date, as well as location, but most of them are discounted to about $50 to $60. Sure, it’s more expensive than, say, a SoulCycle class, but it’s worth the investment. In the Instant Pot class, for example, you’ll learn the ins and outs of cooking under pressure. You’ll learn about key ingredients of Mexican cuisine, you’ll make corn tortillas by hand (your hands!), and you’ll prep all the accompaniments.

Students receive a generous helping of each dish, the lesson (obviously), and a coupon for 10 percent off in-store purchases the day of class. Dinner, a show, and a sale? Sounds like a good deal to us.

There’s usually only room for 16 students, so we recommend enrolling in a class (or three), stat. Before the sale ends!

Have you taken a cooking class at Sur la Table before? How’d it go?
