Unlike traditional poppers, this recipe skips the breading altogether. Instead, the poppers are wrapped in bacon and baked in the oven for a no fuss appetizer.
Halve jalapeño peppers lengthwise. Scrape out the seeds and ribs with a small spoon.
Shred cheese. Add cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to cream cheese and mix.
Stuff the jalapeños. Smooth the filling so it is flush with the tops of the peppers.
Wrap poppers with bacon and secure with a toothpick.
Arrange poppers on baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool the jalapeño poppers before serving.
