You don’t need any special equipment to cook up a pot of stunningly simple, tender, and fluffy rice. All you need is a cup of rice, a pot, and a stovetop.
Rinse the rice in strainer under cool water until water runs clear.
Add rice to pot of boiling water and cook for 30-38 minutes uncovered.
Drain the rice and return it to the pot.
Cover the pot and steam rice for another 10 minutes.
Season with salt and butter (optional) and fluff the rice before serving.
