This $20 Collapsible Food Container Saves Space in My Kitchen Cabinets (Plus, It’s Great for Travel!)
In my family, I’m known as the one who’s constantly organizing everyone’s Tupperware cabinets. I’ll spend as long as it takes to match lids to containers and remove all the leftovers, leaving behind a neat and tidy space when all is said and done. I’m not a huge fan of bulky containers, but I consider them necessary when there’s a lot of food to put away. However, for everyday snacks, small bites, and to-go lunches, I’ve got a better alternative to bulk-sized bins. I’d already been a fan of Stojo for their collapsible bottles, but my favorite product from the brand is by far their stylish and functional box collection. I have a total of five (so far), and I’ve taken them everywhere from around the block to all the way across the United States while visiting relatives and friends. Believe it or not, I’m not done stocking up on these containers just yet, but in the meantime, I want you to know why I love them so much.
If you’ve ever visited Stojo’s site, you know there’s a standard 24 Oz. Box and a Jr. Box. The boxes are the same size and only differ in color, with the Jr. Boxes having fewer options but brighter shades. The available colors are what made the Jr. Box a must-have for me, but I’d love to round out my Stojo Box collection with a full standard set as well. The containers have a hard plastic lid and soft collapsible body which takes the boxes from a fully-expanded 2.5” to 1.2” when collapsed. The top snaps on with four clasps to make it spill-proof and seal all of the contents inside, whether it’s snack mix, a sandwich, or non-food items. When it’s expanded and closed, the container holds its shape extremely well and will prevent your food from getting ruined. A reviewer on Stojo’s site even mentioned bringing a sandwich to a Disney theme park in one of the boxes and was able to enjoy it hours later without it smashing during their exciting day out.
Other than its amazingly sturdy qualities, the other feature I love about this container is how compact it is when flat. I don’t like cluttered kitchen cabinets, so I’m picky about what food containers I keep on hand. The Stojo Box is also stackable, therefore it saves a ton of space for other items like mixing bowls, colanders, and bulkier containers that I use for other food. Additionally, because it collapses, I’ve been able to throw these containers into my carry-on while traveling and put leftover chips, sandwiches, and other foods from the road or the airport inside to save for later. My best friend once made me a batch of highly-requested buttery pecan cookies right before I left to spend the holidays with family last year, and I was able to put a handful of cookies into a Stojo Box and got them across the country without a single one breaking along the way.
No joke, I use the Stojo Boxes whenever possible. They’re hands-down my go-to containers at home and while traveling. The only foods I don’t put in them are those with sauces that could potentially stain them, but that’s my own personal preference and not the rule. The Boxes are dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, and can be ordered as a bundle if you want to save a few dollars. They’ve helped me cut down significantly on the number of single-use plastic bags I use on a regular basis, too. I’ve recommended them to quite a few of my friends and family, and they’ve liked them so much that one of my containers mysteriously ended up in a kitchen cabinet at my brother’s house — as if I wouldn’t notice! If you don’t take my word for it, just check out the reviews on Stojo’s site and try one for yourself. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
