Starbucks Has Two New Tropical Frappucino Flavors Just in Time for Summer
With the first day of summer just a day away, coffee giant Starbucks has unveiled two of its new limited-edition summer menu items. The latest flavors for their Frappuccino blended Crème beverages are fruity in taste and vibrant in appearance: Berry Prickly Pear and Mango Pineapple.
The Berry Prickly Pear features a mango Frappuccino blended Crème base, which is poured on top of a strawberry and prickly pear fruit purée. The beverage is then topped with a layer of the berry prickly pear fruit purée. According to the company, the drink contains notes of hibiscus, passionfruit, and lime.
“Prickly pear has a similar taste to tropical melon and berry, and we found that it pairs really well with strawberries,” Jennica Robinson, a member of the Starbucks beverage development team, says in a statement. “This Frappuccino is made without whipped cream, so the fruit flavors and bright colors really shine through.”
As for the Mango Pineapple, it also has a mango Frappuccino blended Crème base. The base is poured on top of a mango-pineapple purée, which features notes of mango, pineapple, and lime. The drink is then topped with a layer of mango-pineapple purée.
“The mouthwatering fruit purée forms ribbons of bright color throughout the Frappuccino, creating creamy and fruity layers of flavor as you sip the beverage,” Robinson says in a statement.
The two Frappucino flavors are available for a limited time, while supplies last, across Starbucks stores in the U.S. and Canada starting Tuesday, June 20.
