Here’s my current situation: I’ve been sitting directly in front of my fan in shorts and a T-shirt since about 8 a.m. In other words, it’s a hot one out there, folks. We are officially in the throes of summer. It is imperative that we stay hydrated out there in the sun. Because there is only one thing that can effectively offer any relief in this punishing heat: an ice-cold beverage. Do you have one in your hand right now? No? Good news! Starbucks is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on all iced drinks this very afternoon. You know what to do.

The offer is all part of the Starbucks happy hour program (which it also hosts for frappuccinos): After 3 p.m. today, when you purchase a grande or larger iced drink, you’ll get a second one in the same size or smaller for free. The deal works on any iced drink: iced tea lemonades, flavored ice tea, iced coffee. You could even spring for the creamy, Ariana Grande-inspired cloud macchiato (which Kitchn recently gave a rave review). As long as it’s a drink and it’s got ice in it, it’s eligible.

There’s just one small catch, though: You need to have the Starbucks mobile app to take advantage of the deal. I know, it’s another app to download. But on the other hand, free Passion Tango iced tea!

Maybe this deal is meant to be shared with the people you love. Maybe you feel like you should bring in your cat-sitter as a thank you for all her support. I have a better idea: Treat yourself to two drinks. Hear me out: Summer is just heating up, and you’re going to need a lot of moral support, specifically in the form of Starbucks iced coffee, in order to power through the next couple of months.
