I Tried the New Chocolate Cream Cold Brew from Starbucks and It’s Guaranteed to Be a Summer Staple
Starbucks can always be counted on to capture a season in a cup, whether it be Pumpkin Spice Lattes in the fall or festive beverages in red cups during the holiday season. The same can also be said as the weather warms, and the new Chocolate Cream Cold Brew that launched this week is everything we crave for summer.
This iced cold brew coffee is topped with a light and frothy chocolate cream cold foam, which is sweetened with vanilla syrup. While it’s being launched for summer 2022, it’s actually being added to the permanent menu, meaning the sweet and chocolatey cold brew is going to be available to us whenever the mood strikes.
I had the opportunity to try this new drink, and it’s hard not to think of melted ice cream or a chocolate milkshake when enjoying it. And luckily, it also offers that same flavor and satisfaction without the heaviness and over-richness of a midday dessert. The sip is both sweet and rich enough to feel like a treat, but just light enough to be a refreshing afternoon pick-me-up on a sunny afternoon. It’s almost like a cold glass of caffeinated chocolate milk — for adults!
The Chocolate Cream Cold Brew is rolling out as part of a new summer menu that also includes a new lime-frosted coconut bar and the return of both the bacon, sausage, and egg wrap and the unicorn cake pop.
Now that my official drink of summer has arrived, I’m more ready than ever for beach season to get here.
