Starbucks Is Releasing a Line of Fruit-Flavored Energy Drinks
There’s a new energy drink in town, and it’s made by your friendly neighborhood Starbucks. The coffee giant has officially entered the energy drink category with the launch of BAYA Energy in grocery stores nationwide.
The new ready-to-drink beverage gets its caffeine boost from the coffee fruit plus vitamin C for immune support. At launch, there are three fruity flavors available: Mango Guava, Raspberry Lime, and Pineapple Passionfruit. Each 12-ounce can of BAYA has 90 calories and 160 milligrams of caffeine. Right now, you can only find Starbucks BAYA Energy at grocery stores, national retailers, convenience stores, and gas stations, but come March 1, they will also be sold at U.S. Starbucks stores. The suggested retail price is $2.89.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Starbucks BAYA Energy to our customers, providing them with a refreshing, fruit-flavored boost of feel-good energy, in a way only Starbucks can deliver,” Chanda Beppu, vice president of channel development Americas at Starbucks, said in a press release. “Over the years, we’ve continued to identify new and exciting ways to expand our ready-to-drink portfolio and saw an opportunity to complement our existing coffee beverage lineup with Starbucks BAYA Energy, the brand’s first beverage to launch in the energy category.”
If energy drinks aren’t your thing, there are other upcoming Starbucks RTD launches to get excited about. These include a new multi-serve cold brew flavor (Dark Chocolate Oatmilk) and two new bottled Frappuccino flavors with oatmilk (Caramel Waffle Cookie and Dark Chocolate Brownie). Starbucks has finally gotten on the oatmilk train in RTD form, and we’re totally here for it.
