Stanley Tucci Shared a New Way to Use Up Leftover Pasta and We’re in Love
The fact that I had leftover pasta for breakfast this morning could be a testament to my belief that pasta tends to taste better on the second day. And if Stanley Tucci’s recent TikTok post is anything to go by, I’m happily surprised that I may not be alone in this belief.
In a March 21 post on his account, the Hollywood star (and one of The Kitchn’s favorite culinary icons) gave us a peek into what he made for breakfast, and the main ingredient was indeed leftover farfalle (bow tie) pasta. The post, which has garnered more than 3 million views since hitting the platform, sees the Searching for Italy star standing in his kitchen with the finished dish that includes additions of sautéed garlic, onion, peas, and pancetta. Then jazzing it up with a topping of butter, bechamel sauce, and Parmesan, Tucci transformed a leftover from last night into a casserole ready for today.
“That’s what it looks like,” he said, taking the dish out of the small oven. “It’s only 10 o’clock in the morning and I think I’m going to have it right now.”
Now when it came to my own leftover breakfast pasta, I think I would have let Tucci down as I only reheated my dish and spared all of the additional add-ons. But moving forward, I promise to break out the skillet, baking dish, and extra ingredients the next time I set my mind on enjoying leftover pasta for breakfast.
Truthfully though, I’m just happy to know that there is someone else in the world that enjoys leftover pasta as much as I do. And more importantly, that they aren’t opposed to enjoying it for breakfast.
