It's been a tough year for cereal. The New York Times reported this past February that almost 40 perfect of millennials surveyed said they don't eat cereal because they find it inconvenient. We saw this trend coming for the last couple years. In 2014 we noticed the decline in cereal sales, and last year we even featured an article where a parent explained why she was trying to wean her children off of cereal. All is not lost, however, for our beloved cereal.
Last week Instagram user @candyhunting announced that General Mills would release two new Girl Scouts-inspired cereals: Thin Mints and Caramel Crunch (which is basically Samoas). I reached out to a spokesperson from General Mills who confirmed that both of these cereals will be released sometime in January.
This is the most information we have right now, but I can already tell this cereal is going to be a huge hit. It kind of reminds me of Cookie Crisp cereal, except that it will probably be way better.
