Why I Love My KitchenAid Stand Mixer Cover
I’ve had my KitchenAid mixer since I was in high school. Yes, that seems a little bit crazy, but when you find a deal too good to pass up, it’s best not to pass it up.
In all the years I’ve had the mixer, it’s found a home in many different kitchens. It has traveled along with me from Kansas to Iowa, back to Kansas, to New York, to California, and back to New York. Somewhere along the way, I got a cover for the mixer, and it was one of the best things I’ve purchased.
I would love to be one of those people who can keep their mixer on the countertop at all times. But none of the apartments I’ve lived in have had enough counter space in the kitchen to allow me to keep my KitchenAid on display. Plus, as much as I would like to think I would use it weekly, I usually end up pulling it out only once or twice a month. Which is why I find the cover to be indispensable.
It might not be the prettiest thing, but it adds that extra layer of protection both day-to-day and when moving. After some kitchen reorganizing, the mixer has recently been moved from its perch atop our TROFAST recycling bins from IKEA to the open shelving below our kitchen counter. Both of these spots are exposed to all the mess that comes with a kitchen, so keeping the dust and dirt away from the mixer saves me the extra step of having to wash it each time I want to use it.
And that extra pocket on the cover makes storing all the extra attachments easy as well.
