When it comes to entertaining guests, my strategy is simple: Wow the crowd with impossibly delicious food without putting in a ton of effort in the kitchen. My slow cooker makes this possible.
These rich and saucy Buffalo chicken sandwiches come together with just a few ingredients, and can be served straight from the slow cooker throughout the entirety of the party. It’s a low-effort meal that I can feel pretty darn proud of, and all my friends love it. It’s a win all around.
The One-Hour Slow Cooker
We can all agree that first and foremost, the slow cooker is all about making mealtimes easier. Sometimes that means a no-prep recipe that cooks all day while you’re at work so you can come home to dinner; other times that means a fast (but hands-off) dinner. That’s where the concept of fast slow cooking comes in.
To keep things as simple as possible, these sandwiches start with rotisserie chicken and use the slow cooker to warm it with a simple Buffalo sauce. That means few ingredients and minimal prep for a comforting, easy, low-effort meal that’s ready in just an hour, and can be served throughout the evening.
