Unique Snack & Easy Appetizer: Baked Lotus Root Chips

041212-lotus.jpg Are you looking for an unusual snack? A real showstopper that might possibly double as an appetizer for a party? Well check out these spiced lotus chips! They look as great as they taste and best of all, there's very little prep work involved!

We're always on the lookout for a snack that can double as a starter for a party. Something to munch or nibble on that can be made in advance and is truly something unique. Although we don't think your day to day snacks have to be extra fabulous, there's really no reason they can't be. Plus, we eat with our eyes before we ever taste things and these lotus root chips lured us in from first sight.

We stopped in at Spoon Fork Bacon where we uncovered the paper thin, baked chips. They're seasoned with cumin, curry and black pepper. They're a snap to whip up and without the need to stand over a fryer as you can just pop them in the oven, they're easy to make while multi-tasking in the kitchen. Curious? We knew you would be.
