[Twice a week we're rounding up our favorite recipes and tips from our friends at Serious Eats and sharing them here. We also want to say Hi to the new readers who found us through Serious Eats and are stopping by for the first time... Welcome!]

A devoted pursuit of all things bacon is one of the things we enjoy and appreciate most about our friends at Serious Eats. They never pass up a chance to feature bacon in its many uses, and we love this focus on our favorite, deliciously crackly pig product.

Here's a new recipe (to us anyway) - a Thanksgiving cheeseball, covered in bacon. Thanksgiving comes but once a year, so check out the recipe and more at Serious Eats. More below...

The Grocery Ninja: The Grocery Ninja reviews grocery curry mixes and suggests curry instead of turkey for the Thanksgiving procrastinators.

A Modern Woman's Thanksgiving: A traditional Thanksgiving looks different every generation, says Karen Resta in this funny and touching entry. She explores the differences between her grandmother's Thanksgiving (ham, no turkey), her mother's (Pepperidge Farm was the sous-chef), and her own (a celebration of food from all over the world).

Photo of the Day: United Pumpkins of America - Check out a new use for all those leftover pumpkin rinds!
