See How Much McDonald’s Portion Sizes Have Changed Since 1955

McDonald’s first opened its doors in 1955, and I think it’s safe to say a lot has changed since then. Not only have menu offerings jumped from 9 items to nearly 170 worldwide, but as you’ll see in the video below, portion sizes have changed quite drastically as well.
Sandwiches now include burger behemoths, a big change from the original single burger offering. But the biggest changes have come with fries and drinks. Originally sold in 2.4-ounce portions, you can now get a 5.9-ounce order of fries. Today you can also get a drink more than four times the size of the 1955 offering.
