I'd put salt on everything if I could. Well, I technically can, but I know that I shouldn't — so I'm always looking for healthier ways to season my food. Once I found this magical salt-free seasoning from Costco (see: The $10 Costco Find That Made Me a Better Mom — And a Better Cook), I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. It yielded a whole new slew of salt-free seasonings to join my spice cabinet.

Here are five salt alternatives (salternatives?) worthy of your favorite dishes.

1. Cavender's Salt-Free Greek Seasoning, $5.50 for seven ounces at Target

Growing up, my mom put the OG Cavender's seasoning on EVERYTHING — MSG and all. Thankfully, you can now get a salt-free variation of the nearly 50-year-old classic Greek seasoning, made in the Ozark mountains in northwest Arkansas since 1970. It somehow tastes like it has salt — but not in a fake way.

2. Mrs. Dash, $10 for 6.7 ounces

If Mrs. Butterworth has the maple syrup game cornered, consider Mrs. Dash her spice cabinet counterpart. This is the salt-free seasoning that started it all, and it's stuck around for a reason — it's delicious. There's now a whole line of Mrs. Dash products, so you'll have so much variety you'll hardly miss the salt.

3. Everything But the Salt Seasoning, $8 for 1.9 ounces

We all know that the cult of the Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel seasoning is real. But what if you want to sacrifice the salt? Daks will take care of you. Enjoy the flavor-packed profile of an everything bagel, with everything but salt. Sprinkle liberally on eggs, avocado, meat, salads, popcorn, and more.

4. Bragg Organic Sprinkle Seasoning, $4 for 1.5 ounces

Established in 1912, Bragg Live Foods is a pioneer in natural health products, with their name on everything from apple cider vinegar to liquid aminos. This mix of 24 herbs and spices is another mainstay and contains no additives, fillers, or preservatives. This seasoning is the perfect addition to veggies, salads, fish, tempeh, poultry, popcorn, and more!

5. Kirkland Signature Organic No-Salt Seasoning, $9.50 for 14.5 ounces at Costco

I've said it once and I'll say it again: This no-salt seasoning from Costco truly is magical. Try it on roasted veggies, steaks, chicken, and anything else you'd usually put salt on.
