Somehow, Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is already fast approaching. If you’re hosting family and friends for a holiday feast and you haven’t already started preparing your menu for the big day, now’s the time. Even though you’ll do a major grocery shopping trip in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, chances are you will still need to pick up a few last-minute items.

The secret to being prepared in the event you run out of butter, mashed potatoes or the very best stuffing ingredients is knowing when your nearest grocery store is open on Thanksgiving Day. If Safeway is your store of choice, then you’ll want to memorize this year’s Safeway Thanksgiving hours so you’re ready for whatever the holiday throws your way.

What Are Safeway’s Thanksgiving Hours?

This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 23, and although many retailers are closed for Thanksgiving, Safeway will be open! Most, if not all, Safeway locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, though the pharmacy will close at 1 p.m. Should you need to run out to the store in a pinch, Safeway has you covered.

Safeway is also open for normal business hours the day before Thanksgiving as well as the day after, ensuring you can get everything you need for Turkey Day or pick up dinner essentials after a long and tiring day of Black Friday shopping. Don’t feel like cooking? Safeway has thought of that, too. Consider ordering one of the store’s ready-to-go holiday meals, so you can spend Thursday with your family and friends instead of bustling away in the kitchen.

While it is expected that all Safeway stores will be open on Thanksgiving, it’s important to perform due diligence before you get in the car. Be sure to check the hours of your local Safeway to be on the safe side. And remember, if you’ve got a supply of coupons burning a hole in your wallet, Safeway is the perfect place to use them so you can maximize your savings on this year’s Thanksgiving meal prep.
