There are few flavor combinations out there that taste better than peanut butter and chocolate. The nutty creaminess of the peanut butter pairs delightfully with the rich, sweetness of chocolate. It’s a year-round must for me, and my absolute favorite morsel of chocolate-peanut butter tastiness? A Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup

The only thing better than a Reese’s cup is a seasonal Reese’s cup. I’m a huge fan of the holiday-themed shapes (Halloween pumpkins, Christmas trees, Easter eggs, you name it) and limited-edition cups that dropped this year (hello, Chocolate Lava). The latest Reese’s release is one that I’ve been particularly looking forward to now for weeks: Reese’s Sugar Cookie Cups.

What You Should Know About Reese’s Sugar Cookie Peanut Butter Cups

The Reese’s Sugar Cookie Cups hit grocery shelves earlier this month, and are among the first of several holiday releases this season. Inspired by  classic sugar cookies, the newly launched cups combine small cookie pieces with the beloved peanut butter filling.
The sugar cookie Reese’s come in king-size cups (two to a pack) and miniature cups (in a 10-ounce bag). They’re both adorned with adorable little snowflakes and reindeers, and while we’re not exactly sure when they’ll leave grocery stores, we can assume they’ll be here through Christmas (and probably on sale the day after). You can find them at select retailers, including Walmart and Instacart.

My Honest Review of Reese’s Sugar Cookie Peanut Butter Cups

I’m a texture fiend. My sandwiches are stacked high with various accoutrements, I put fried shallots on early everything, and most importantly, I’m team crunchy peanut butter. By the looks of the bag alone, these new cups are for the crunch-minded, with bits of cookie pieces mashed into the peanut butter prominently on display — and, of course, these pieces are coated with chocolate!

Because these are miniature cups (and come with 32 in the bag), instead of biting halfway through and inspecting the structure, I popped one straight into my mouth to taste it in its entirety. Crunchy! Sweet! Creamy! Peanut butter! Cookies! So many familiar flavors and textures at once all complementing and working with each other.

I bit my second cup midway so I could see all of the sugar cookie bits mixed in the peanut butter filling. Even in the miniature-size cups, the sugar cookie is evident; I went in with some tongs to pull out a few cookie pieces to taste on their own (you know, for research) and they are sweet, buttery, and crunchy. Excellent paired with the nutty peanut butter!

These Reese’s Sugar Cookie Cups are not just good; they’re really good. In fact, they may just be my new favorite seasonal release (I’m sorry Pumpkin Reese’s!). I’ll be stocking up on them until they’re gone for good, and I highly suggest you do the same.
